  ray franz who gave us insight into the gb due to a crisis of conscience was an absolute moron, with absolutely no critical thinking skills whatsoever like all of us have.

  i mean, to have a conscience based on some magic man in the sky.. how stupid can you be?

  I just started a thread on the damage W.T material did to me. From what I understand Ray wrote two books helping me understand this?

  Personally I hadnt heard of these books, but calling someone an idiot, for exposing the truth, and helpng people out of a cult is too stupid to comment on.

  But that is not what you are saying is it vinman?

  What you are saying is this man is an idiot for believing in a higher authority. Well were we idiots when we believed in the higher authority of the Watchtower? Or were we simply not informed?

  What has the Watchtower reading material done to YOU?

  the reason i ask is because i realise i couldn't go on reading watchtower material.

  i have discovered it did something to my mind no other literature has done to me before.

  it had turned me in to a person without a heart, or soul, and made me in humane and distant from other humans who didn't share the w.t world view.. i now feel ashamed of my childish behaviour, and i have learnt :-.

  The reason I ask is because I realise I couldn't go on reading Watchtower material. I have discovered it did something to my mind no other literature has done to me before. It had turned me in to a person without a heart, or soul, and made me in humane and distant from other humans who didn't share the W.T world view.

  I now feel ashamed of my childish behaviour, and I have learnt :-

  A) I must search reading material that produces softer feelings and a more positive world view,

  But perhaps most importantly:-

  B) I have learnt, reading means CRITICAL THINKING, it requires discipline, and feelings and thoughts that are my own and not other people's.

  Anyway I would love to hear your thoughts on;-

  A) What W.T printed material did for you?

  B) If / why you still read it? ( personally I couldn't bring myself to read poster Blondies review on the latest W.T)

  The Kingdom Hall where madness is sanity, and things are not what they are, and neither are they what they are supposed to be. And what is belived is only said for the sake of recognition, and recited from little magazines that contain a useless, nasty and hostile message.

  So I am glad I am out, and that I moved a head with my life. But what really made today special was the the realisation so many here have been through the same as me, and have also found life can be beautiful outside the K.H.

  so i had a discussion with my mother about this, and she claims that because of this that: "we are surely living in the last days right now" while i must admit myself that the situation seem chaotic, i don't want to believe that it is the last days.

  so question is, how do i face an opinion like that?

  " Globally one in every 122 humans is either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking asylum"

  Now I can understand how a person who reads the bible, may believe that the above figures are down to satan and a sign we are in living in the last days.

  Personally I think what is worse is that many of us simply shrug of the figures with:-

  " well it won't reach my street so why should I care"

  So I wouldn't take your mothers thoughts too seriously, as long as she doesn't see you as a black sheep, and you get along, isn't that most important?

  The Rebel

  It is a warm sunny day, blue skies and I am excited by the prospect this Sunday holds. Will I dismantle a motorbike? paint a picture? Or play football with my boy?

  Maybe all three!!

  However it was not so long ago I was denied such choice on a Sunday.You see I belonged to the " social institution" we named the "Kingdom Hall". It was a strange place, where everyone was " brother" or " sister" and " truth" equaled "it may be so" or if not someday, someone on our behalf will " guess again".

  Oh looking back, I realise I wasted so many Sunday's, in a place where " self realisation" means "acceptance" and " to question" means " to suffer"

  " We shall see, we shall see" says the " blind man" and we all opened our watchtowers, and closed our hearts to warm sunny days, dismantling bikes, painting pictures, and playing with our loved ones.

  So how about you? Have any of you got anything better to do than go to the K.H today?

  WHEN people leave a cult...MAN landed on the moon? Or critical thinking......

  i believe anyone who has voluntarily left a cult has shown they can adapt to new solutions, and have used " critical thinking" skills otherwise most would not have left.. yet i believe a safe place for support is still needed and this safe place i believe is searched for.. now i may not measure up to much in ways of education, but for me personally " critical thinking skills" = " new" a " new" way of thinking, that takes time for me the individual to be visual and to contemplate.

  and the more i read about " critical thinking," the more convinced i am that i can live with the ridicule of those that claim i do not possess it.

  furthermore i would say those that criticise others " critical thinking skills," often luck the sensibility and thoughts to snore, spit, and fart....nor would they understand a room full of tobacco smoke and cheap booze...where " critical thinking " can often be found in its most profound, in the most sensitive poems and "pictures" that were ever drawn.

  an unwelcome dawn comes creeping upward, her tendrils straddling the dark mountain so terribly near my once sweet but now quaking refuge called home of the heart.. i peer through panes that give onto a landscape of horror that, to some, appears pristine but to me is a reminder that he has been swallowed up by a wood both black and cruel.. daring to venture forth, i hear his voice .

  .. he calls out, so faintly, begging i rescue him from a jail that holds him fast against all escape; though myself a liberated man, i cannot free the one i taught the truth.

  So now my once alert, proud and stubborn heart, bleeds when he wishes to speak. A heart which has grown expressionless to all words of daytime " truth". Now such daytime thoughts are only received in weary pain. But at night, a sleep on a hard bed my heart can still call out "faintly begging that I should rescue" that bleeding membrane, and allow him escape in to the weary fantasy of dreams...

  few realize just how wicked some of the most revered people in history were.

  helen keeler (1880 to 1968) was a wolf in sheep's clothing, no hero.

  keller was a communist.

  VA shooting suspect was raised a JW! He mentions it on his Twitter account

  anyone in the usa following this morning's shooting "on-air" live tv will know what i'm talking about.

  bryce williams (not real name, but on-air name) shot and killed 2 people on live television this morning in roanoke, va. he was wearing a go-pro camera, and uploaded his first-person video onto his social media accounts.

  i've seen his twitter feed (before it was taken down), and not very far down he mentions being raised a jw.

  My sympathies to the victims friends and family.

  In my opinion Flanagan was a coward and he wanted to kill. People can find any ecsquse to kill if that's what they want to do.
